We are excited to unveil the first installment of cross application navigation between our Purchase Order and Invoice Automation platforms! Soon users for our Invoice Automation Solution will be able to view their company's Purchase Order Dashboard - directly from their navigation bar.
Note: To enable cross-application navigation, please email email@example.com
How Do I Use Cross Application Navigation?
Once the Purchase Orders tab is selected, users will be redirected from the Invoice Automation to the Purchase Orders application. Users are able to view and print purchase orders, as well as view history, PO details, and print the PO.
Right away you'll see that the PO Table is organized into multiple tabs. Each line on a single PO is organized under these tabs based on the status of that PO Line. Unlike Invoice Automation where an invoice can only be in one tab; PO Lines can be in multiple tabs at once. For instance, an Order Line maybe Late and still Pending so that order line will be in the Pending Tab, Late Tab, & the All Open Tab.
For a review of the PO Table & tabs please click here.
The only action available for Invoice Automation users is "Print PO." Using this action is where you'll notice one of the big differences between PO & IA - the ability to take action on multiple lines. This enhancement is coming soon for IA. With the PO Table, select the line(s), and then click Print PO from the fly-out Choose an Action menu.
Another action available is the ability to use the search feature. The PO Table has two search features: a key term search box and an Advanced Search. Similarly to Invoice Automation these searches save so be sure to clear them after each use.
To better understand Advanced Search please click here.
PO Details Page
The PO Table is organized at the line level but you may want to see all the PO Lines on a single PO. In addition to using the search features you can open the PO Details Page by clicking on the PO Number in the table.
To learn more about the PO Details Page click here.
You may need to understand more about the PO Line and access the PO History. This page will tell you what actions were taken, when they where taken, and who took those actions.
To learn more about the PO History please click here.
IA user do have limited view only access to the PO Dashboard. So you if click on an area that is not accessible you will receive an error message.
Here's what Accountants do NOT have access to:
- Any of the other tabs in the PO Application
- ex: Performance Insights, Shipments, etc.
- Items Details page, Vendor Details page, and other pages/actions normally available to buyers from the PO Table
- PO Exports (other than "Print PO") and other PO Reports
