SourceDay allows you to customize the dates that matter the most to your business and purchase orders. For some, this means focusing on Due date or Promise date, while for others, it might be Ship date or Promise Ship date.
During implementation, our team works closely with you to align these dates with your business needs. We also ensure that suppliers clearly understand the date that is updated with proposing changes (collaboration date).
Understanding on-time delivery date
When measuring on-time delivery it's important to use the correct collaboration date. Buyers can easily toggle between their options like Due date and Promise date or between Ship date or Promise Ship date. The collaboration date is listed below the toggle.
What do the date options mean?
In general the date options are standard, however your buyer company may have variations to the list below.
Due date | The date you expect the PO line to arrive. This date is often the primary date of collaboration and proposed changes. |
Promise date | The original or initially agreed upon date with your supplier. This date rarely changes and is often used for performance metrics. |
Ship date | The date you expect the PO line to be shipped. If using this date, suppliers propose changes to the the ship date and the buyer team can review and adjust the due date to reflect the anticipated arrive date. This date flow is called Adjusted due date flow. For suppliers collaborating on ship date this is referred to as the collaboration date. |
Promise Ship date | The original agreed-upon ship date for the PO Line. Just like Promise date, this rarely changes. |
