Suppliers using Bulk Imports to update their PO Lines will need to include Root Cause detail when proposing changes or cancellations. Root Cause can easily be added to the excel document used to make bulk changes using just their corresponding codes.
How do I add root cause?
First the Supplier will need to understand the Bulk Import Process, get started learning about this feature here. Then, it’s just a matter of adding a Root Cause column to your import file. From there you’ll be able to add the codes associated with the Root Cause.
- Review the Buyer Company’s Root Causes - A list of all the Root Causes available is provided on the bulk imports page. You can review this list by Buyer Company using the drop-down menu under Root Cause Codes for company. See the screen shot below for an example.
- Add the codes into your excel file under the new column called Root Cause - You only need to add this information for PO Lines that you are proposing a change or cancellation.
- Map the new Root Cause column using the blue button “Edit/Map Column Headers” in the top left corner. For additional details on field mapping read this article.
- Upload and Process the file.
