The message action allows buyers and suppliers to have a conversation about a specific PO line and keeps all the correspondence attached to that specific PO line. This can take the back and forth messages out of email and off the phone while keeping the conversation in one easy to view place.

How do I view and respond to messages or notes?
There are a few ways you can view and respond to messages within SourceDay. In bulk using the Message action or line by line with the right side peek panel.
To use the peek panel: hover or a click on the square icon, the Peek Panel will fly out and display the most recent messages and notes related to a specific PO line directly within your dashboard. The peek panel is a fixed column on the right side of your PO Table. To open click on the icon of the PO Line you want to view.
You can easily see the latest message and PO Notes without leaving the dashboard. Use the up down arrows at the top to review additional PO Lines.
You can also open the PO Notes and Messages window directly in the dashboard with a simple click. These columns can be arranged anywhere you need in the PO table using manage columns.
PO Lines with unread messages will be organized within your Message tab.
How do I use the message action?
From the PO Dashboard: Select the order line(s) then select Message to open the message window.
If using our new dashboard the message action is the text icon on the top right side.

Within the Message window
Review messages
Navigate between PO Lines by clicking the PO Summary on the left side. The conversation will show in the main panel.
You can easily review existing messages and conversation history. A green check mark will indicate if the message has been marked read or a response provided.
When reviewing messages, to move them off the Message tab you can respond to the message or simply click on Mark All Lines Read (to mark all selected order lines as read) / Mark Read (to mark an individual order line as read) at the bottom of the message window. A green check mark will be added to the PO Summary on the left side of the window.
Add a New Message
You can add a new message to one PO Line or you can select Send message to all selected PO lines.This checkbox will add the message to all the selected lines.
Click the Green box with the arrow icon to send the messages. Order lines with new messages will be displayed on the Message Tab.
PO Notes
Buyers can add notes to lines with the Note Only action, suppliers are not able to use this function to send notes. This action allows the buyer to select one or multiple lines with the same supplier or across multiple suppliers. No notification will be sent to the supplier with this action but both buyers and supplier will be able to view the note. If the communication between the buyer and supplier requires back and forth communication, messages should be used.
The note will appear for buyers and suppliers:
- In the flag column as a green flag (the last note left on the line will be displayed)
- In the History on the line for reference
- In the notes column for buyers and suppliers
- It will not appear as a "Message" in the Messages tab
- In the Export from the PO Dashboard in the "Last Note" column
How do I add a note?
1) Select the lines you want to add a note on by clicking the open next to each line; then from the Choose an Action flyout menu, select Note Only
2) Enter your note in the Comments field before clicking Add Note
