SourceDay uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) to help keep your account secure.
Note: Please reach out to your CSM or your SourceDay admin if MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) needs to be enabled for your company.
This guide will walk you through setting up SourceDay using a mobile authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or another compatible authenticator app.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have an authenticator app installed on your mobile device.
If you do not already have one, you can download an authenticator app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 1: Sign In to SourceDay
Enter your SourceDay password and select Continue.
Step 2: Select an Authentication Method
You will be prompted to add an authentication method.
Select Google Authenticator or similar.
You do not have to use Google Authenticator specifically. Other compatible authenticator apps can also be used.
Step 3: Open Your Authenticator App
SourceDay will display a QR code on the Secure Your Account screen.
Keep this page open while you open the authenticator app on your mobile device.
Do not scan the QR code using your phone's regular camera app. The QR code should be scanned from within your authenticator app.
Step 4: Add SourceDay to Your Authenticator App
Open your authenticator app.
If you are using Google Authenticator:
- Tap the + button.
- Select Scan a QR code.
- Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on the SourceDay screen.
After scanning the QR code, a new SourceDay entry will be added to your authenticator app.
Your authenticator app will display a 6-digit verification code. This code automatically changes after a short period of time.
Step 5: Verify Your Authentication Setup
Return to the SourceDay page.
Enter the 6-digit code currently displayed in your authenticator app into the Enter your one-time code field.
Select Continue.
Your authenticator app is now connected to your SourceDay account.
Step 6: Choose Whether to Enable Faster Sign-In
After setting up authentication, SourceDay may ask whether you would like to enable faster sign-in on your device.
This can allow you to use your device's supported security features, such as fingerprint or face recognition, when signing in.
You can choose:
- Continue – Set up faster sign-in on this device.
- Remind me later – Skip this step for now.
- Not on this device – Do not enable this option on the current device.
This step is optional and does not affect your authenticator app setup.
Signing In After Setup
The next time SourceDay asks you to verify your identity:
- Open your authenticator app.
- Locate the SourceDay entry.
- Enter the current 6-digit code shown in the app.
- Continue signing in.
Because the verification codes change frequently, always use the code currently displayed in your authenticator app.
Having Trouble Scanning the QR Code?
If you are unable to scan the QR code, select Trouble Scanning? on the SourceDay authentication screen.
You may be provided with a setup key that can be entered manually into your authenticator app.
In Google Authenticator, tap the + button and select Enter a setup key instead of Scan a QR code.
Important
Do not share your authentication QR code, setup key, or one-time verification codes with anyone.
If you lose access to your authenticator app or are unable to sign in, contact your SourceDay administrator or SourceDay Support for assistance.
